Exotic Escapes
A Little About Us
Exotic escapes was founded 12 years ago for the more discerning traveller, we specialise in exotic locations, giving our travellers a little slice of paradise. Each year we try to add something new to our repertoire. This year we have chosen an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Hawaii
The Hawaiian Islands are the furthest islands from land anywhere in the world and they are a true taste of paradise. TheAmerican state has an immense amount to offer and on the island of Oahu there are remote waterfalls, mountains and valleys, beautiful palm tree dotted beaches, surfing available on a grand scale!, golf courses, and remote and ancient temples!
Oahu
We have added to our large range of exotic destinations this season with the delightful island of oahu, one of the Hawaiian Islands. Oahu means Gathering Place and the island is rich in culture and history. This is where visitors come when they want a little of everything Hawaii has to offer - the Polynesians who inhabit the islands are friendly and hospitable.
Waikiki
Waikiki Beach is one of the best known beaches. When you think of Hawaii, you think of this beach, two miles of golden sands. It is usually crowded but you can swim, surf, snorkel and canoe here. There are lifeguards at all the major beaches.
Surf ing
Surfing takes place on Oahus north shore. In winter some of the largest and most imposing ocean waves on the planet can be found here. Giant, storm-generated swells make their way across the northern Pacific to batter reef breaks and the areas shoreline. Winter wave heights can get as high 20 feet, with faces up to 50 feet!
Diamond Head
One of the most memorable places on Oahu is Diamond Head Crater. People travel for thousands of miles to view this most recognisable of icons. The views from the top of the crater are stupendous. You too can walk to the top following the hikers trail. It should take you about an hour to walk the 0.7 mile trail to the top and just half that time to come back down again. The trail climbs the inside slope of Diamond Head for about half a mile. Its a switchback trail with the mountain on one side and a railing on the other. After a lookout point that doubles as a rest stop, the trail takes a steep upward ascent through a series of stairs and tunnels. The last set of stairs is a 99-step climb!
Parks National
You must visit the national parks whilst in Oahu. There are 23 state parks on the ocean and throughout the interior. On the North Shore, the Pacific Ocean's deep strength is shown where massive waves pound the shore in an unforgettable rhythm. See waterfalls, rainforests, birds, plants and famous sites such Hanauma Bay, and learn about Oahu's geology, archaeology, and history.
Dolphin Excursions
If you're like many people, you've dreamed of swimming with dolphins in their natural habitat. Oahu's west coast teems with colourful fish, curious Hawaiian green sea turtles and wild spinner dolphins. Take a trip out - once in the midst of a group (pod) of dolphins, you'll be able to jump in and snorkel with these magnificent creatures.
As you can see, there is so much to see and do. Why not drop in and collect a brochure, once you have seen the value of these holidays you will want to book immediately.
